Quick CJC-1295 Summary Points
- CJC-1295 is an injectable peptide hormone that can initiate the release of growth hormone
- Growth hormone can help to improve recovery, boost muscle mass and decrease lean mass
- While CJC-1295 can increase growth hormone, there are plenty of side effects
- These side effect include skin irritations, high blood pressure, headache, diarrhoea and even heart attacks
- Personal use of CJC-1295 is illegal in Australia and it is also illegal to sell in a retail environment
- The best alternative to CJC-1295 is natural growth hormone support supplements.
What is CJC-1295?
CJC-1295 is an injectable synthetic peptide hormone that is similar in structure to the growth hormone releasing hormone. Consequently, it can stimulate the release of growth hormone from the pituitary gland. As its name suggests, growth hormone is an anabolic hormone and is responsible for the production of some other anabolic hormones, such as IGF1. This makes the use of CJC-1295 attractive to certain individuals wishing to make gains in lean muscle.
Why use CJC-1295?
Originally, peptides such as CJC-1295 were developed to be used by medical professionals to treat those suffering from growth disorders, diseases causing muscle wasting, or burns victims (Teichman et al, 2005). Studies have shown that the use of CJC-1295 has prolonged significant effects on increasing the level of growth hormone secretion (Teichman et al, 2005; Ionescu & Frohman et al, 2006). However, whenever a substance has anabolic affects, it draws attention from the bodybuilding and athletic community. Such substances may increase lean muscle mass, reduce fat, and improve performance.
CJC-1295 Side Effects
Originally, studies involving CJC-1295 reported that almost 100% of people injected with the peptide experienced some side effects. Generally these were mild and temporary, involving skin irritations, high blood pressure, headache, and diarrhoea (Teichman et al, 2005). However, when CJC-1295 underwent phase II clinical testing, three subjects receiving CJC-1295 suffered heart attacks. Since then, the drug had not been a commercial success due to questions about its safety, and further devlopments have ceased.
CJC-1295 Legal Status
Because of the questionable safety of CJC-1295, it has not been approved for use by humans. Instead, it is only legal for research purposes by organisations such as universities, hospitals, and government agencies. Consequently, using CJC-1295 for personal reasons is illegal in Australia and many other countries. This is in fact the case with the cast majority of these types of peptide pharmaceuticals. Unlike other drugs, these products have not proven their efficacy and/or their safety and as such is never recommended for use.
Legal & Safe CJC-1295 Alternatives
There are many safe and legal alternatives to CJC-1295 and related compounds. Natural growth hormone supplements consist of a specific blend of safe non-hormonal amino acids that have been shown to increase the natural production of growth hormone in human subjects (Isidori et al, 1981).
